Tanya Byron is a British Psychologist, writer and media personality. She’s best known for her work as a child therapist on the television shows Little Angel and The House of Tiny Tearaways.
A part of me thinks that child therapy is such a hard job, to observe and listen to all the difficult things that are going on in a child’s life, that her work, although meaningful, must be somber and at times dark. She must have seen some of the most heartbreaking and challenging cases you can imagine. Tanya does however seem to find ways of leaving the work behind and focus on personal matters, or in this case the photo shoot. The shoot’s backdrop involved the bright colours of her living room as well as the more plain toned room that is her office. Her office had charts on the walls with categories, lined out to help her book writing. Tanya works with the government on several of issues related to children’s wellbeing as well as writes her own books and features on TV. She has a contagious smile and is warm and welcoming. Her most recent book The Skeleton Closet takes a look back at her experiences and tells tales of ordinary people with an amazing resilience to the challenges of life.
