Sir David Hare
You know you are in the presence of greatness, not only due to the work they have produced, the awards they have won or the company they keep, but it can also be measured according to the photographer’s they have been photographed by. Sir David Hare is one of those screenwriters / playwrights / directors that has been photographed by all the greats in the book of portrait photography. When he said he’d sat for Irving Penn it left me feeling a little under-qualified. It was evident that he was used to the camera, relaxed and composed. A fine guy to have in front of the lens for a short while and with no doubt, one of the most talented screenwriters/playwrights we have in the UK.
Sir David Hare was promoting his new series Collateral, which stars Cary Mulligan, John Simm, Nicola Walker, Billie Piper to mention a few. A mini series with a modern take on the life of a detective, dealing with the issues of immigration, people smuggling, sexuality in the church with a bit of pizza delivery on top. You have to see it to believe it.
