Cristina Cisilino is the founder and driving force behind the fair trade jewelry range MADE. It started off in Kibera, Nairobi, on of the world’s biggest ghettoes. The aim was to use local artisans living in the ghetto and giving them a fair market and a fair price for their work as well as a safe environment to work from. The money earned by MADE is not only given to provide securities for individuals but has also helped schools and other projects to improve life in Kibera.
