Giles and Mary- Gogglebox
Giles and Mary are familiar faces for all of those who are into watching a TV show about people watching TV shows; namely Gogglebox. Giles and Mary have now also got a book out, a diary that also includes Giles’ illustrations. The diary varies between both Mary and Giles’ individual diaries which then allows us to see a marriage from two separate angles, two different points of view of the same issue. It’s a fun but also intriguing insight into how a relationship works and how we all look at different issues in different ways. It also shows how two minds work after 30 years of marriage.
The shoot took place at their house, as seen in Gogglebox, which was in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere. I may never find my way back to where they live as it was so remote and it felt like it was in the middle of a labyrinth, but I like to imagine that I one day will be on TV and whilst maybe watching Gogglebox one day, I will watch Giles and Mary watching me. But what program would I be featured on? David Attenborough’s new find perhaps??
